The University of Macau (UM) Lui Che Woo College (LCWC) held the first college activity – Mid-Autumn Festival Party on 4 September in the new academic year. It was the first college gathering of teachers, staff and students after the establishment of LCWC. Attendees included college Designated Master Prof. Yip Ming Chuen, who just came back from Taiwan for the event, Associate Master Dr. Chan Moon Fai, Resident fellow Dr. Chu Caixia, College staff and students.
With the theme of Mid-Autumn Festival, lanterns with wonderful colors were hung everywhere in the college. Besides moon cakes and fruits in the party, there were different activities such as the talent show, lucky draw and games. Prof. Yip expressed that this big party was significant because it was the first big gathering of the college members. In one of the singing performances, Prof. Yip picked the microphone and sang with the performers, which highlighted the atmosphere of the party. At the end, Prof. Yip awarded the certificate to the performers for showing gratitude to them.
Lui Che Woo College is one of the new residential colleges established in 2014. By providing a collaborative living environment to students, the college aims at promoting diversified development of students and boarding their horizons.
